Championship Weekend
January 22, 2012

New Leadership   It's the AFC and NFC Championship weekend and after the release of Head Coach Tony Sparano we now have some hope for some positive change. I want to say thank you to our owner, Stephen Ross who announced the appointment of new Head Coach Joe Philbin the former offensive coordinator for the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers. South Florida Sports Analyst are reporting Coach Philbin will bring an aggressive attack offense which is exactly what Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross has been asking for all along. Coach Philbin will have to hire his own staff and prepare for the 2012 draft in April with General Manager Jeff Ireland. I’m sure there will be an evaluation of the team’s current roster and changes are coming. I hope we have a chance to acquire the services of free agent quarterback Matt Flynn who is the current backup quarterback for the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers. Matt Flynn and Matt Moore can battle it out for the starting quarterback position to lead this team in the 2012 campaign in our quest for the playoffs. Go Dolphins...

Dan Marino, Hall of Fame
Inducted Summer 2005

On Sept. 13, 1999, at Mile high stadium in Denver, Dan Marino began his 17th year of service with the Miami Dolphins adding to his club record for most seasons as a Dolphin. In 1998 he broke Bob Kuechenberg’s former club record for most seasons as a Dolphin (15 seasons), which Kuechenberg originally set from 1970-84. Marino played in 242 regular season games with the Miami Dolphins, Marino missed only 23 games during his career due to injuries. In those 23 games that he missed due to injury, the Dolphins were 12-11. Dan was the last QB of the Quarterback Class of 1983 to be taken in the first round, Marino became one of the most prolific quarterbacks in league history, holding or having held almost every major NFL passing record. Despite never being on a Super Bowl winning team, he is recognized as one of the greatest quarterbacks in American football history. Best remembered for his quick release and powerful arm, Marino led the Dolphins to the playoffs ten times in his seventeen-season career. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.
